The Fayette County Sheriff's Office was investigating a one-vehicle fatal crash Tuesday night.
Deputies said the crash happened around 9:45 p.m. in the 200 block of Brock Road in Paint Township.
Sheriff Vernon Stanforth said a 2006 F-series pickup truck was traveling northeast on Brock Road when the driver failed to negotiate a right curve.
The vehicle went out of control, travelled off the left side of the roadway and into a small streamline, where it struck a bank. The vehicle continued across that streamline, overturning and ejecting one of the two people inside the truck.
The person that was ejected was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other person in the truck had to be extricated by members of the Bloomingburg Fire Department and Sheriff's Rescue Unit. The victim was airlifted from the scene by a Care Flight medical helicopter to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
Deputies said the victim's names would not be released until family could be notified about the accident.
