Ohio Man Killed In Snowmobile Crash

UPDATED: Monday December 16, 2013 4:18 PM

Authorities say a 44-year-old man has been killed in a weekend snowmobile accident in northern Ohio.

The Sandusky Register reports that Gary Jenkins of Norwalk was killed late Saturday when the snowmobile he was riding struck a culvert and threw him.

The crash happened south of Sandusky.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the 1997 Ski-Doo snowmobile struck a tree after hitting the culvert.

The Huron County coroner pronounced Jenkins — who was wearing a helmet — dead at the scene.

The crash is still under investigation.
