The Ohio State Highway Patrol was investigating a fatal crash in Hocking County Thursday morning.
Troopers said 33-year-old James R. Cunningham was driving a Ford Ranger southbound on State Route 278 around 1:45 a.m. and failed to negotiate a left curve.
OSHP said the truck went over the center line, struck an embankment and overturned.
Troopers said Cunningham was not wearing a seatbelt and died as a result of the crash.
A passenger in the car, a 17-year-old male, was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. He did not sustain any injuries.
Troopers said SR-278 was closed for three hours while the crash was being cleaned up.
OSHP said alcohol was considered a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
