Hundreds of volunteers from Volunteers of America were up early Thanksgiving  morning preparing meals at the Great Columbus Convention Center for thousands of people in Columbus.

This year marks the 23rd annual Volunteers of America's Thanksgiving Day "Care-A-Van" program.

The volunteers will deliver meals to more than 2,500 people in need.
Before they could deliver the meals, the volunteers cooked more than 4,000 pounds of turkey, 500 pounds of coleslaw and corm, and 285 pumpkin pies. The volunteers also cooked 2,500 rolls, 500 pounds of mashed potatoes, 800 pounds of stuffing and 120 gallons of gravy, made from scratch!

The volunteers partnered up with ARAMARK, Heartland Bread and Roll, Honeysuckle White Turkey's "More to Share" program, The Kroger Company and UBS Financial Services.
