Musty, Fishy Tasting Water Safe To Drink

UPDATED: Thursday November 14, 2013 3:54 PM

The Columbus Department of Public Utilities says a musty, fishy water taste is normal and safe to drink.

Spokeswoman Laura Young Moore said the smell is a seasonal occurrence. It happens when layers of the water in the reservoir get stirred up and older water gets used.

Moore said the water is not harmful. This typically happens in the Fall during temperature changes.

Moore said crews added powder activating carbon to get rid of the smell. The smell is expected to go away within the next few days.
