Shots Fired During East Columbus Police Chase

Columbus Police are searching for a person who fired shots at a special duty police officer in east Columbus early Monday morning.

Police say the shooting started at Club Vission near Hamilton and Refugee roads around 2:20 a.m.

Officers say there was a confrontation between the special duty officer and the suspect inside the club.

A short time later, officers started chasing a car they believed may have been involved in a robbery.

The driver refused to stop when police tried to pull the car over.

Officers followed the car, and that's when they say someone fired shots at police.

Officers say the car got away and no one was hurt.

Police say they are searching for a silver car that may have been involved.
