The body of a missing man has been found in a western Ohio cornfield a week after a neighbor was arrested on a charge of aggravated murder in the man's disappearance.
Authorities say 78-year-old James Cole's body was found Friday about five miles west of Sidney. The Sidney man was reported missing Oct. 14.
Shelby County Prosecutor Tim Sell did not elaborate on a suspected motive, the Dayton Daily News reported. Sell said authorities believe the cause of death was a bullet wound and his office will seek the death penalty.
Authorities arrested 40-year-old Michael J. Wood, of Sidney, on Oct. 31 after a citizen's tip.
Wood remained in jail Saturday on a charge of aggravated murder. Jail records didn't list an attorney for him.
