Due to weather concerns, Columbus city officials are changing the time for Trick-or-Treat.
The time is being moved up to 5:30 p.m. - 7 p.m. on Thursday.
A storm system moving into the central part of the state could bring rain and some high winds just in time for trick-or-treat time Thursday evening.
The National Weather Service says it could even bring strong thunderstorms and wind gusts of 50 to 60 mph.
The worst of it is expected to roll in from 4 p.m. Thursday to 4 a.m. Friday.
The move follows changes in many surrounding communities.
The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission decided to bump trick-or-treat times up due to the weather. MORPC helps Columbus and 40 other neighborhoods coordinate community events like Halloween.
"When we were faced with severe weather, we brought a number of the communities together, including Columbus, and several others to talk about the weather and decided changes needed to be made this morning, and we had a call with a lot of them and decided to change it to 5:30 to 7 this evening,” said William Murdock, Executive Director, MORPC.
