Fire Spreads Between Three East Columbus Houses

Firefighters were battling a fire that spread between three ouses in east Columbus.

This fire started just before 4:00 a.m. Friday at Mount Vernon Avenue and 21st Street, just east of downtown.

Crews say a fire at one house spread to the home next door.

A third home also suffered minor damage.

Authorities told 10TV a woman was found injured in the alley with a sprained ankle.

Authorities say she admitted to squatting inside one of the vacant homes.

She was taken to a hospital.

Mount Vernon Avenue was closed as firefighters got the flames under control.
