A jury will weigh whether to recommend a death sentence for a man convicted in the death of a woman who was set on fire and found wailing on an eastern Ohio road.
Jurors in Zanesville last week convicted 34-year-old LaFonse Dixon of aggravated murder and other charges. Sentencing for the Canton man is scheduled to start Tuesday.
He could face the death penalty or life in prison, with or without parole.
Two women pleaded guilty to avoid the death penalty and testified the trio took 29-year-old Celeste Fronsman to rural Muskingum County, where she was set on fire and abandoned in August 2012.
A driver found the Canton woman who died two days later.
Dixon's attorneys argued he wasn't involved and said the women lied to save themselves.
