A victim in an armed sexual assault investigation spoke with 10TV about her harrowing experience while waiting for a COTA bus near East Long Street and Ohio Avenue Monday morning.
10TV is not identifying the 27-year-old mother of two because she fears for her safety.
The victim said she was sitting on a concrete stoop with her 3 year-old child in her arms when an armed suspect approached and kidnapped them.
"I just felt something really hard in my back and he put his hand around my mouth and he told me to walk with him and all I could think was where are you taking me what's going on," the victim said.
She said because she feared for her life and that of her daughter, she walked with the stranger away from the COTA bus stop for just a few feet before he stopped and raped her behind a building.
"He heard her crying and he did not care, didn't budge he just kept on going like oh well," she said of the man's reaction to her daughter's crying.
The victim says the suspect repeatedly threatened to shoot her if she reported it to police, waited until she was dressed and made sure she didn't make any calls.
She said he walked her back to the bus stop, waited for the bus to come, and stood there until she got on before he left.
She says as soon as the doors closed, she screamed for help and Columbus Police detectives were on the scene in minutes and able to collect significant evidence.
Police are reviewing security video from the bus to determine the suspect's identity.
He is facing rape, kidnapping and child endangering charges.
