One man is dead following a single-vehicle crash in Fayette County.
The Sheriff says 71-year-old Herbert Dearth of Clinton County lost control of his vehicle on U.S. 22 shortly before 8 p.m. Friday.
Dearth reportedly drove off the road, hit an embankment and crossed a driveway access. The vehicle ended up on its side.
The Sheriff Department says Dearth was not wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected from the vehicle.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
No one else was in the vehicle.
U.S. 22 was closed between Jasper-Coil Road and Staunton-Jasper Road for more than two hours as authorities investigated the crash.
