Police Recover Body Of Man Who Fell Overboard In Quarry

Columbus police say they have recovered the body of a man who fell overboard while fishing in late September.

Casper Leslie’s boat capsized in a quarry off of South High Street on Sept. 28.

Columbus police said that a second man called authorities to say that the fishing boat he was in tipped over shortly before 2 a.m. that day.

The man told police that he and Leslie had been drinking at the time of the incident.

Dive teams searched the area but did not immediately find his body.

Family and friends also launched an effort to find the man.

Police said that they did not suspect and foul play and no charges will be filed.
