An Athens County mother was arrested on an outstanding warrant after trying to pick her children up from school in Glouster.

According to the Athens County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a report of a parent who appeared to be impaired and stumbling on her feet at Jacksonville Elementary.

Glouster police, who were already on scene, had detained the woman, identified as 33-year-old Cindy Losey of Millfield.

The sheriff's office said that Losey said she did not believe she was impaired but admitted to using heroin the night before.

She said she was trying to pick up her children from school.

Losey refused to complete a drug screening for representatives at the scene.

It was discovered that Losey had a warrant out for her arrest. She was taken to the Southeast Ohio Regional Jail and charged with her active warrant.
