Travel Plan To Look At Columbus Schools Transportation

UPDATED: Wednesday October 16, 2013 4:36 PM

Local leaders are rolling out a $250,000 district-wide school travel study.

The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission, the Ohio Department of Transportation and the City of Columbus are sharing the cost of the program.

Officials say the program will make recommendations to improve safety and transportation at 99 eligible K-8 schools.

It will let the city apply for federal funds to implement engineering projects and education, encouragement, enforcement and evaluation of recommendations from the plan.
