I-270 East At U.S. 23 On North Side Closed Because Of Fatal Crash

One person was killed and another was injured after a crash in north Columbus Sunday night.

The crash occurred on Interstate 270 east near U.S. 23 shortly before  8 p.m.

Two vehicles were involved in the crash.

The Franklin County Sheriff's office said 75-year-old Millie Embaugh of Blacklick was maneuvering her car to the median after experiencing mechanical issues.  That's when her car was struck by a pickup truck driven by 51-year-old Curtis Randall Hicks of Columbus. 

Investigators said Hicks died after being transported to the hospital.  Embaugh suffered non-life threatening injuries.

I-270 at U.S. 23 was closed during the investigation and was reopened at 11:00 p.m.
