Alum Creek Drive was shut down Wednesday morning after a truck crashed, spilling oil into water under a bridge.
The crash happened around 7:30 a.m.
The northbound and southbound lanes were shut down near I-270. One northbound lane reopened around 10 a.m. At noon, northbound lanes had be reopen, but southbound lanes remained closed.
Obetz Police said the driver of the truck fell asleep and hit a guardrail over Walnut Creek.
A Hazmat crew responded to the scene to clean up the oil. Around 100 gallons of diesel fuel were spilled.
The EPA was called in to help clean up the mess. Large absorbent bags were put on the ground to help soak up the fuel. Officials said the environmental damage due to the spill was minimal.
There were no reports of any serious injuries. The driver will face charges of failure to control.
