UPDATED: Tuesday October 8, 2013 6:34 PM

The city project manager has resigned amid controversy over expensive road signs in Pataskala.

In September, 10TV reported about the city spending $27,000 for 16 large metal road project signs.

Taxpayers complained about the cost and the large signs looking bad in neighborhoods.

Crews eventually removed the signs.

City officials said that Project Manager Robert Schroeder resigned on Sept. 27.
