Shawnee Hills Police To Honor Officer Who Lost His Life

Family, friends and fellow law enforcement officials are paying their respects to a Shawnee Hills police officer who lost his life last week.

The Shawnee Hills police chief told 10TV that Officer Troy Fields died from complications after suffering a stroke.

Fields also served as a special deputy with the Knox County Sheriff's Office.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home in Newark. Interment will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery in Bethesda, Ohio.

The Shawnee Hills Police Department will conduct police honors. Police officers who have agreed to participate in the motorcade should meet at 9:45 a.m. one block north of the Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home. They should park their marked vehicles in the parking lot of the former Meijer store on 21st Street.

A Masonic service will be held Sunday at 7:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
