The U.S. Government shutdown forced the closure of a small section of Alum Creek State Park that's under federal control.
This Week News reports the below-dam area off Lewis Center Road, along with its parking areas, shelters and playgrounds are closed for the duration of the shutdown.
The land is controlled by the Army Corps of Engineers.
The shutdown only affects the federally funded portion of the park.
