GOSHEN, Ohio (AP) — A southwest Ohio man has pleaded not guilty to multiple counts of animal cruelty after discovery of four dead horses and cow carcasses on his property.
The Wilmington News Journal (http://bit.ly/1caabKq ) reports that Clinton County sheriff's deputies searching the property also found starving horses, goats, sheep and a cow that have been removed.
Fifty-six-year-old Kenneth E. Huffaker of Goshen is free on bond, pending an Oct. 15 preliminary hearing. Court records don't show an attorney for Huffaker, and his home phone wasn't accepting messages Friday.
The newspaper reports authorities discovered the carcasses and malnourished animals last week.
Court records show that Huffaker was on probation with conditions including community service for The Humane Society after pleading guilty earlier this year to two counts of animal cruelty.
