Columbus Police arrested a suspected serial air conditioner thief Wednesday morning.
Police said undercover officers had been watching the suspect for days.
They believed the suspect was part of a big copper theft ring.
Police said around 4:00 a.m. Tuesday, the man went to the Runaway Bay Apartments off of 5th Avenue.
It was there where officers saw the man taking parts off of air conditioner units and putting them into his car.
Authorities say he hit up to six units.
Officers arrested him a short time later at 5th and McKinley Avenues.
Police believed he was taking copper from the units to sell.
They even found the tools that he allegedly used.
Detectives hope their undercover work may have put a dent in the AC thefts.
They will now try to connect the suspect with other similar incidents that have cost victims tens of thousands of dollars.
Police are also looking to see if the man they arrested is also operating a theft ring with others.
