Ohio Highway Patrol officials say they are targeting several areas following a rash of semi crashes over the past several weeks.
Those crashes include one in Madison County two weeks ago. In that crash, a semi collided with an SUV on Interstate 70, sending one person to the hospital.
Troopers will be pulling over truck drivers and motorists in that area who are putting others in danger.
“We’ve seen an increase in commercial related crashes in the month of September. We’ve had one fatal crash in the Columbus area. We’re looking to reduce the fatal crashes and injury crashes in central Ohio,” said Lt. Kelly Weakley, OHP.
Along with the enforcement along I-70 in Madison County, troopers are also increasing patrols on I-71, just south of Columbus.
