A man is charged with felonious assault for allegedly stabbing his 19-month-old son.
According to the London Police Department, officers responded to a complaint from the baby’s mother about her ex, who is the father of her young son.
She said that her ex, identified as Jonathan Davis, was mad because she was seeing another person. She said Davis had her son and threatened to kill himself and the baby if she did not come to his house.
At about 4:15 a.m., officers responded to Davis’ home, located on Circle Drive, where after a short time they were able to locate Davis and the baby.
Police said that Davis was holding the baby in his left arm and had a knife in his right hand. He was asked to put down the knife and release the child, but he refused.
Officers said that Davis took off running. A Taser was used to stop him.
The baby suffered a stab wound to the right side of his stomach, and Davis was also injured.
The baby was taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital and Columbus, and Davis was transported to another Columbus hospital.
The incident remained under investigation.
