The man dubbed the "Bad Beard Bandit" by police has pleaded guilty to robbing eight banks, according to the U.S. Attorney.
Kenneth J. Horsley, 54, of Columbus, admitted to robbing seven banks in the Columbus area and one in southwest Ohio.
Horsley pleaded guilty to five counts of bank robbery, each of which is punishable by up to 20 years in prison, and three counts of armed bank robbery.
According to court officials, Horsley admitted to entering banks wearing a fake beard and demanding money from employees. He used a gun and threatened to shoot anyone who following him.
He was arrested in March and has been in custody since his arrest.
Horsley has not yet been sentenced but could get life in prison for the crimes.
