Thousands of dollars of damage was done during a rash of car break-ins early Friday morning near Ohio State University.
They occurred at the University Plaza Hotel and the Canterbury Apartments along Olentangy River Road.
Rodney Stackhouse works next door to the hotel where he stays. He woke up to find both of his vehicle's windows shattered.
"They got my laptop and a couple of sleeves of gloves and our lunch stuff," he said.
Police say they took multiple reports after guests at the hotel found their vehicles broken into early Friday morning.
While police were at the hotel, they got a call from the Canterbury Apartments down the road, where vehicles were also damaged.
"It's almost like vandalism to me," said resident Warren Langdon.
Langdon had to clean up when burglars caused hundreds of dollars in damage to his vehicle.
"They really didn't get away with anything, just some change," he said.
At least six residents of the apartment had their windows shattered overnight by thieves.
Police believe those six break-ins, along with the five from the hotel, are all related.
Authorities are checking surveillance video in the area to see if the suspects may have been captured on camera.
