A man posing as a police officer got off with a man's wallet.
According to the Chillicothe Gazette, the man knocked on the front door of a home on Mill Street at about 9 p.m. Wednesday and asked to go inside.
The man demanded "dope" after he was let into the residence, the paper reported.
The homeowner, who did not have drugs, handed over his wallet. The thief, who was dressed like the police officer, fled.
The paper reported that he got away with $600 in cash and identification cards.
The thief was described as white, between 45 and 50 years old, and around 6 feet tall.
