This Afternoon: Partly cloudy and very humid. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms possible. Some storms in the late afternoon and early evening could produce damaging winds, hail and heavy downpours. Highs are in upper 80’s. Heat indices up to 99.
Tonight: Isolated storms possible through early evening then look for partly cloudy skies. Muggy with lows in upper 60’s.
Labor Day: Partly cloudy with 30% chance for showers and storms. Highs in middle 80’s. Skies become clear and dry by evening.
The heat index is up there pushing 100 degrees. Skies are partly cloudy and showers and isolated storms will be possible in the afternoon and early evening hours. Some storms could have damaging winds, hail and heavy downpours because of their slow-moving nature. Rain chances will stay with us through early evening then look for partly cloudy skies with lows on the muggy side in the upper 60’s. Showers and storms are possible on Labor Day but will be very hit or miss with highs in the middle 80’s. Cooler and drier air will make for a very pleasant day on Tuesday with sunshine and highs in the middle 70’s. Sunshine will keep weather quiet for the rest of the week.
Inconvenient Weather: Widespread severe weather is not expected but some isolated late afternoon/early evening storms are possible with gusty winds, hail and even some flooding rains. The heat remains an issue today with highs in the upper 80’s and humid conditions it feels like it is in the upper 90’s.
Planning your Day: Be prepared to move indoors this afternoon and evening with the threat of storms that have the potential for flooding rain, hail and produce damaging winds. The heat could also put a damper on outdoor plans. Labor Day will bring some relief from the heat, but much cooler air will wait until Tuesday.
