Police say a woman got out of a moving vehicle before she was struck and killed earlier this month.
According to police, Jessica Lynn Nichols was traveling northbound on Interstate 71 in the early morning hours of Aug. 21 when she got out of the moving vehicle that was traveling at a high rate of speed.
Police said that she survived the impact with the roadway but she died after being struck by passing vehicles.
Nichols' death prompted the closure of Interstate 71 between Interstate 670 and Cooke Road for a number of hours during the investigation.
Police said that they continue to investigate the 22-year-old woman's death.
