Columbus Police say no officers were injured in a shooting on S. 17th Street. Get the story.
The president of a Westerville art gallery said a giraffe sculpture was stolen right off her front porch.
Renee Kropat, president of Gallery 202, Partners in Art, Inc., said the giraffe was created by a disabled student and in recent years had become a community conversation piece; passersby would even stop to take pictures with it.
Kropat said the giraffe was stolen off the front porch of her College Avenue home between 11 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday.
She described the sculpture as being made out of paper mache and wood, with plastic jewels attached to it. She said it stands about 4-foot tall and measures about 3-4 feet in length.
Kropat said the piece has sentimental value and she would like for it to be returned to her. Those with information can also call Westerville police.
