High pressure continues to influence our weather this evening and will again for much of Monday. As the high moves off to the east, the winds will pick up out of the southwest which will increase the heat and humidity as we start the new week. Temperatures will top out close to 90 degrees for much of next week with heat index values soaring into the middle 90s at times.
A few storms may develop near Lake Erie and drift toward central Ohio late Monday night. However a greater threat for storms is expected as a cold front drifts into the Ohio Valley on Tuesday. Storms may linger into Wednesday before the front moves off to the south of Ohio by Thursday morning. Slightly cooler, less humid air will filter into the state Thursday. However the heat and humidity will quickly return as we head into the holiday weekend.
