Remember last week at this time when temperatures were in the low to mid 70s, and we promised summer would return this week? It has certainly felt like it today with temperatures climbing into the upper 80s. We will catch some brief relief from the heat thanks to a cold front working across the region. That front is also helping to kick off some showers and storms this afternoon across central Ohio. We’ll keep scattered showers and t-storms in the forecast this evening into tonight. While we’re not expecting widespread severe weather, one or two storms could become strong to severe with gusty wind and hail.
The computer models are keeping a slight chance for a few showers early Friday morning followed by partly sunny skies. Highs will be in the low 80s with less humidity. High pressure will bring clear skies Friday night and Saturday. Look for lots of sunshine this weekend with highs in the low 80s Saturday and into the mid to upper 80s on Sunday. The heat and humidity return Monday through at least the middle of next week.
Inconvenient Weather: Scattered showers and storms this evening and tonight
Planning Your Day: Take an umbrella with you if you’re headed out this evening. Most showers and storms should be gone by late tonight, but we’ll keep a slight chance for rain early Friday. Otherwise, expect partly sunny skies Friday with highs in the low 80s.
