A woman was indicted with aggravated murder on Thursday in connection with the death of a 77-year-old woman.
Zina Somone Roberson, 49, of Georgia, was indicted by a Franklin County grand jury on one count of aggravated murder in connection with the June 26, 1987, death of 77-year-old Anna Mae Florence.
Roberson was arrested in Georgia on Aug. 15 after investigators said her DNA was linked to physical evidence at the scene.
News archives said that Florence was stabbed multiple times and suffered blunt force trauma to the head after the suspect allegedly beat her in the head with a telephone. According to a press release, robbery was the motive in the attack.
"DNA technology has advanced substantially over the past several decades, which increases our chances of solving cases like this where evidence has been preserved," Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O'Brien said in a press release.
