A Hilliard man accused of hitting and killing a woman with his car and then driving away was using a suspended license.
Court documents show that Brian Gease, 26, was driving on a suspended license when he hit and killed Beth Shapiro on July 21.
Gease has confessed to being behind the wheel during the fatal crash.
Witnesses told police that Gease was speeding and did not have his headlights on when he hit Shapiro on Neil Avenue.
A check of his records indicated that in 2006 Gease pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
