Highland County authorities are looking for a man who shot at a deputy during a traffic stop early Monday.
The Highland County deputy tried to stop a vehicle at about 3:30 a.m. on state Route 41 near the Highland, Pike and Ross County line.
The passenger in the vehicle fired at the deputy before the driver fled the scene, according to the Pike County Sheriff's Office.
The deputy was uninjured in the shooting.
The vehicle involved in the incident was described as a gray Dodge Stratus with the left tail light missing and a temporary license plate. It likely has gunshot damage in the back, after the deputy returned fired at the vehicle.
