A crew from Ohio will spend the next few weeks continuing to protect the people, homes and forest land threatened by wildfires out west.
The team was deployed on Monday.
A 20-person team lead by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Forestry returned home last week after battling fires in Oregon.
"We are proud that so many of our trained wildfire personnel are willing to assist other states in their time of need," said ODNR Director James Zehringer in a release Monday. "We are thankful for their efforts and wish all of them a safe and swift return."
According to The Associated Press, 2,000 homes remain under mandatory evacuation orders due to the 160-mile Beaver Creek Fire in Idaho. The blaze is eight percent contained.
