UPDATED: Monday August 19, 2013 5:31 PM

As students head back to class across central Ohio, the Columbus Metropolitan Libraries are staffing their Homework Help Centers.

The centers have a number of specialists and volunteers on hand to help children with their assignments.

This year, Friday hours will be available at all locations instead of the Sunday hours offered last year.

The Homework Help Centers hours of operation are:

Monday – Friday, 3-6 p.m.

Driving Park, Franklinton, Hilltop, Livingston, Martin Luther King, New Albany, Shepard, Whetstone and Whitehall

Monday – Thursday, 4-7 p.m. and Friday, 3-6 p.m.

Linden, Main, Northern Lights, Reynoldsburg, South High and Southeast

Monday – Thursday, 3:30-6:30 p.m. and Friday, 3-6 p.m.

Dublin, Gahanna, Karl Road, Northside and Parsons

Monday – Thursday, 4:30-7:30 p.m. and Friday, 3-6 p.m.

Library officials say the centers are free and provide a safe place for students to get help with their homework. Children using the centers are required to have a library card.
