Police are looking for three-year-old Arabella Cadena and her father, Luis Cadena, 33.
They believe he left the state with the girl during a weekend visit.
Arabella's mother has legal custody of the girl, but allowed her to spend the weekend with her father. The mother says she let Cadena visit with the child with the understanding that he would drop Arabella off at daycare Monday.
When she realized the child never made it to daycare, she called police.
Police went to Luis Cadena's apartment on Princess Place in Northeast Columbus. Neighbors told them they'd seen Cadena packing up a U-Haul trailer.
One neighbor told 10TV Cadena told him he was leaving the state.
Investigators believe he's headed to either the Carolinas, Dallas, or Mexico.
They say he also goes by the name Roque Cadenas.
Police have filed a charge of felony interference with custody against him.
Cadena was last known to be driving a Silver Honda Prelude with Ohio License FEG-5761.He may also be traveling with a white Toyota RAV 4 with Texas plates DG3X375.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Columbus Police at 614-645-4624.
Officials said they did not believe the young girl was in danger but wanted to locate her before she was taken out of the country.
