Ohio State Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer announce the suspensions of two players Saturday afternoon.
All-Big Ten cornerback Bradley Roby has been suspended for the season opener Aug. 31 against Buffalo.
Roby was arrested in July in Bloomington.
The charge for assault was reduced and could be dismissed.
Despite that, Meyer said Roby will miss the opener because of the situation he put himself in.
Junior running back Rod Smith will also miss the opener against Buffalo.
Meyer would only say Smith violated team rules during the winter.
That brings the total to three Buckeyes currently suspended.
Carlos Hyde will miss at least the first three games of the season because of a situation with a woman at a Columbus bar last month.
