Urban Meyer Suspends Running Back Carlos Hyde From First 3 Games; Video Released Of Bar Incident

UPDATED: Tuesday July 30, 2013 9:36 PM

Ohio State Head Football Coach Urban Meyer said Tuesday night that Carlos Hyde will be suspended from at least the first three games of the 2013 season for “conduct not representative” of the football program.

Columbus police released video Tuesday of a night club incident involving the Ohio State running back.

The incident at Sugar Bar 2 took place on Main Street on July 20.

There is no audio.  The video shows a group of women dancing on a riser while men in the club watch.

Hyde is seen talking to the men, then approaching the riser and one of the women.

The incident escalated at that point and became physical.

The woman filed a report with police.

Tuesday, Columbus police said charges would not be filed against Hyde because the woman said she did not want to pursue charges.

Meyer said that Hyde’s behavior was “not representative of this football program or this university. He will be required to fulfill additional obligations before he is allowed to play in the game.”
