Thousands of Central Ohioans came to the 10TV Health and Fitness Expo this year making the 2013 edition a tremendous success.
One of the stars of Sunday’s event was professional dancer Louis Van Amstel who got people out of their chairs dancing to his new dance video “La Blast.”
“Dance can get bring people back to life," says Amstel.
“Not only do you get the health benefits you get people to smile again", he said.
There was something for everyone at this year's event.
From Diabetes health screenings, to learning what it's like to dawn the gear of a firefighter, there were checks to see what's in your ear and stations to donate blood.
The Red Cross reported 39 units of blood were collected on Saturday. A pint of blood can save the lives of three people, according to organizers.
Even the governor's wife got into the act by taking part in a football obstacle course to show the importance of physical fitness.
Karen Kasich is promoting a DVD called “Time for 10” to help Ohio school children get thinking about doing something active to stay fit.
“Active doesn't mean you have to send them to a gym, or sign them up for a sports team. Hoola-hoops like you have at the expo running around in the background playing tag anything like that will do,” said Ohio’s First Lady.
The First Lady of Ohio partnered with Nationwide Children’s Hospital to create the DVD which will be available to any Ohio school starting in August.
