One suspect has been arrested in connected to a Sunday morning shooting.
Police say 25-year-old Rakim J. Lewis was standing in front of a home in the 700 block of Kelton Avenue around 1 a.m.
The suspect, identified as 20-year-old Malachi Z. Lewis, reportedly fired gunshots from a gray Chevy Impala.
Lewis was struck twice in the lower abdomen and taken to an area hospital in critical condition.
He was expected to survive.
On the way to Kelton Avenue, police spotted the Chevy Impala traveling at a high rate of speed.
Officers followed that vehicle, and a police helicopter saw the suspect get out of the vehicle and run into an apartment in the 600 block of Woodrow Avenue.
The S.W.A.T. team was called out during the standoff.
Lewis was taken into custody around 5 a.m.
