Coroner Releases Identity, Cause Of Death Of Young Boy Found Dead On Train Tracks

The Franklin County coroner released the name of a 13-year-old boy found dead near Downtown Columbus on Thursday afternoon.

Dr. Jan Gorniak said that Demar Thomas was found dead on the tracks near Mound Street and Interstate 70 at about 3 p.m.

Gorniak said that the boy died from blunt force trauma to the chest from an apparent fall.

Investigators were still investigating why the boy was at the tracks.
