A teenager was hospitalized on Thursday after falling from a cliff at Hocking Hills.
According to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, a 17-year-old boy fell from Cantwell Cliffs. He fell nearly 20 feet.
Cantwell Cliffs is one of six major hiking areas at Hocking Hills State Park.
ODNR officials said that the teen was off the trail when he fell.
He had to be taken to a hospital by medical helicopter.
The boy’s name and the extent of his injuries were unknown.
Officials said that there is safety signage in the park, but signs had not yet been put up at Cantwell Cliffs.
Earlier this year, three people fell to their deaths in Hocking Hills in three separate incidents.
Officials said they were taking steps to increase visitor safety.
