1 Injured In Lancaster Crash Involving Garbage Truck

A two-vehicle crash shut down Fair Avenue on Thursday morning, according to the Lancaster Police Department.

The crash was reported at Fair Avenue and Barr Drive just after 8 a.m.

A pick-up truck, which was going too fast, according to police, struck a curb and then ran into a garbage truck at the location.

One person was reported to be trapped in the pick-up. When authorities got to the man, they found him holding a hunting knife.

A medical helicopter was requested at the scene, but the injured person was transported by ambulance to the Fairfield Medical Center.

The injured person's condition was not released.

The garbage truck driver was not injured.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
