Investigators were working to figure out how a young boy died after he was found on train tracks near Downtown Columbus Thursday afternoon.
A boy, believed to be between the age of 12 and 14, was found on train tracks near Mound Street and Interstate 70 at about 3 p.m.
Authorities ruled that the boy's death was accidental but still did not know how he died.
Investigators said they were not sure if the boy was struck by a train or died another way.
They also were cross-referencing the state's missing-persons database to see if the boy matched anyone on the list.
The coroner's office was called to the scene.
