A young girl was pulled from a pool in Newark Tuesday afternoon.
"She was blue, lifeless. I was scared to death," said eyewitness Alyssa Knotts.
Knotts says her daughter ran over to her for help during a visit to Hollander Pool in Newark.
"My littlest came over she said Mom there's a little girl at the bottom of the pool," said Knotts.
According to Knotts, her son, Tristyn, heard what his sister said and jumped in the deep end of the pool.
"Her arms were just floating in the water," Tristyn said. "I just felt like I had to help."
Witnesses say the girl was at the bottom of the pool for at least a minute.
As Tristyn tried to pull the five year girl from the bottom of the pool, Knotts says she swam over to help while screaming for the lifeguards.
"This little body was lifeless. She was extremely heavy and difficult to flip her," Knotts said.
Lifeguards ran over and helped get the child out of the water. Witnesses say they then started CPR.
A medical helicopter took the child to Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus.
Her condition at last check is unknown.
