Law enforcement units were on scene of a Forest, Ohio, home on a report of a stabbing Tuesday morning. According to the Hardin County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to a home in the 10100 block of County Road 195 at about 10 a.m.
The sheriff on the scene said that a man kicked in the door to his ex-girlfriend's house and stabbed her to death in the kitchen. He then stabbed himself to death.
The two people found dead were 22-year-old Justin Douglass Manns and 28-year-old Teresa Nelson.
911 calls described the last moments before the two died.
Nelson told dispatchers that her ex-boyfriend was on the porch and that he had threatened to kill himself at the home the day before. She said she feared for her own life.
The woman's 8-year-old daughter spoke with authorities on a 911 call.
"It appears she pretty much saw what happened today," said Hardin County Sheriff Keith Everhaul.
Jenna Morrison said that she got to know Teresa while serving time in prison on drug charges.
"She was just a really good person, she had a good heart, she loved her daughter," Morrison said. "She had been through a lot."
She said she was shocked about what happened and was mourning the loss of her friend.
"I know there's not much you can do or say to a family when they lose someone like that," she said. "I've lost family members before. I don't know, just keep people in my prayers."
