Columbus Man Recovers in Hospital After Being Struck By Garbage Truck

UPDATED: Sunday June 30, 2013 9:48 AM

The family of a 24-year-old Columbus man hope surveillance video will help police track down the driver who struck their loved one.

Pebbles Long says her nephew, 24-year-old Frank Long, was badly injured when he was run over early Friday morning by a garbage truck.

She said it happened in the downtown area near High Street and Lynn Alley.

Long said her nephew might have been drunk because a surveillance camera showed him lying down in the road before a garbage truck ran over him.

Long says her nephew has little recollection of what happened and that his leg might have to be amputated.

Long said Columbus Police detectives are reviewing surveillance video of the incident which might possibly lead them to that driver.
