Capital University in Bexley is one step closer to gaining a new National Historic Preservation status.
Recently, The Ohio Historical Society recommended the university to become a designated historic district.
Right now, five buildings are on the National Historic Registry.
A historic district would put up to 20 buildings under the same status.
The National Register of Historic Places opens the door for Capital University to explore state and federal grants, as well as tax credits.
